About Leo
September 28, 2024
Hi temple community; I am Leo Fenster. Kicking a soccer ball makes me feel energized. I am on a Newton travel soccer team and I play a lot with my friends. I also do magic tricks for my friends and family because I like watching the looks on people’s faces when I do a good trick. I love to go skiing because it makes me feel free to go fast down trails. For the past two years, my brother and I competed in a FIRST Lego league robotics competition and I can’t wait to do it again this year.

I am the oldest and the most responsible of three brothers. Toby is two years younger than me at 11 and Eric is 9 years younger than me at age 4. We live with my parents and two cats named Appa and Momo.

I am entering 8th grade at Charles E. Brown Middle School in Newton where I like all of my classes but my favorite is English because I find it the most challenging subject.

Becoming a bar mitzvah makes me feel more responsible because I had to spend time independently practicing all of my Torah and haftarah portions and reviewing them with the rabbi. I did a lot of activities for my Ma’asim Tovim experiences including trash clean ups, helping out at temple events, and participating in the Winter Walk and Mother’s Day Walk for Peace. My favorite volunteer work was collecting and delivering groceries for Jewish Family Table with my father.
